June 4, 2007 MECKLENBURG COUNTY NC NEWS -- The FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the perpetrator who is responsible for the robbery of the SunTrust Bank located at 207 South Sharon Amity Road in Charlotte, North Carolina. On June 4, the bank was robbed at approximately 9:40 a.m. by a lone suspect who entered the bank and presented a note to the teller demanding money. Although a firearm was not observed, the demand note indicated that the perpetrator was armed. The perpetrator fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. The perpetrator is described as a black male with a fake moustache, approximately 5' 6" - 7" in height, weighing approximately 140 pounds, and 30's in age. The suspect was wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap that was dark blue on the front and white on the back. The FBI's Safe Street Task Force investigators are releasing the still images below from the bank surveillance tapes to help further identify the bank robber.
