June 5, 2007 MECKLENBURG COUNTY NC NEWS -- On June 5, the Wachovia Bank located at 4501 Park Road South, Charlotte, North Carolina was robbed. FBI's Safe Street Task Force investigators are asking assistance in identifying the criminal who committed this robbery. At approximately 9:30 am, a lone masked black male armed with a drawn handgun entered the bank, and ordered the bank employees and customers to lie on the floor. The gunman then proceeded to take cash from the teller drawers. After taking the cash, the perpetrator fled the bank in a white, 4-door Honda Civic, which turned onto Park Road. The perpetrator is believed to have triggered an anti-theft device which may have covered himself and the stolen money with a red dye.
The gunman was dressed in dark clothing consisting of long pants and a long white t-shirt worn underneath a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt. The perpetrator's face was covered with a red bandana.
