July 5, 2007 MECKLENBURG COUNTY NC NEWS -- On July 5, 2007, at approximately 1:08 p.m., the Truliant Federal Credit Union located at 9524 Monroe Road, Charlotte, North Carolina, was robbed by a lone male armed with a handgun. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the perpetrator fled the area in a Honda automobile that was white in color and displayed a North Carolina license plate. The FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department responded to the bank robbery, and are seeking your assistance in solving this crime. The perpetrator is described as a black male, approximately 5'6" to 5'9" in height, late 20's to early 30's in age, and weighing approximately 150 to 160 pounds. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was dressed in dark clothing. This bank branch was the victim of an earlier robbery on June 18, 2007, and the individual responsible for that crime is still being sought. The perpetrator in the June 18 robbery was a lone male armed with a handgun who fled the area in a four-door sedan that was red in color and had tinted windows. That perpetrator was described as a black male, approximately 5'6" in height, with a small build and weighing approximately 140 pounds. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was dressed in black clothing, including a black, hooded sweatshirt. It is unknown at this time if there is any connection between the two bank robberies.
