MECKLENBURG COUNTY NC NEWS -- The FBI Charlotte Safe Streets Task Force is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the individual who is responsible for the robbery of the Wachovia Bank located at 6228 Idlewild Road, Charlotte, North Carolina.

On August 13, 2007, at approximately 9:50 a.m., a masked lone male armed with a semi-automatic pistol entered the bank and ordered the bank's customers and employees to the floor of the bank. The perpetrator then went to three of the teller windows and demanded money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the perpetrator fled the area on foot.

The perpetrator is described as a black male, approximately 5'5" - 5'7" in height, medium build, and 35 - 40 years of age. At the time of the robbery, the robber was wearing a black ski mask, black sunglasses, a black shirt, black pants, and black gloves.

Investigators from the FBI Charlotte Safe Streets Task Force and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department responded to the robbery. Anyone with information regarding this case is requested to contact the FBI at (704) 377-9200.
