RBC Centura Bank Robbery on 7 September 2007

MECKLENBURG COUNTY NC NEWS -- On September 7, 2007, at approximately 10:05 a.m., a lone male entered the branch of RBC Centura Bank located at 1000 East Boulevard, Charlotte, North Carolina, and walked directly to a bank teller, who he tossed a bank robbery demand note. The demand note indicated that the perpetrator was armed; however, no weapon was observed or displayed during the course of the robbery.

After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the perpetrator fled the area in a small, older model vehicle, not further described. The bank robber was observed entering the front passenger side of the vehicle. Unfortunately, the driver of the vehicle was not sufficiently observed for descriptive purposes.

The bank robber was described as a black male, approximately 5'10" to 11" in height, medium build, and about 29  early 30s in age. At the time of the robbery, the perpetrator was wearing a tan tee shirt, black jeans, and a light colored hat.

Investigators from the FBI Safe Streets Task Force and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to the robbery and are still investigating. Anyone with information regarding this robbery please call the FBI at 704-377- 9200.
