Wachovia Bank Robbery attempted on 11 January 2007

MECKLENBURG COUNTY NC NEWS -- Two would be bank robbers entered and attempted to rob the Wachovia Bank located at 15030 Idlewild Road in Charlotte, North Carolina, on January 11, 2007, at approximately 5:30 p.m. The FBI's Safe Streets Task Force is asking your help in apprehending these two gunmen.

The gunmen are described as:

  • A black male, approximately 5'8" - 5'10", wearing a dark colored sweat-suit with a hood
  • An unidentified subject, approximately 5'4" - 5'6", wearing black or dark colored sweat-suit pants and a light grey hooded sweatshirt.

Witness say, the gunmen entered the bank and fired two shots. Then demanded money from the vault, but fled the bank without any money due to heightened security procedures enacted for to the bank's. No injuries occurred during this incident. The gunmen are considered armed and dangerous.
