February 15, 2007 MECKLENBURG COUNTY NC NEWS -- The FBI Safe Streets Task Force comprising of agents and officers from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office, is asking the public's assistance in identifying an unknown perpetrator who has been linked to at least 6 bank robberies in Charlotte, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee. The perpetrator is identified as a white male, mid-50's, approximately 5'11"- 6'1", and approximately 180 pounds. He enters the bank under the auspice of legitimate bank business and presents robbery note to a teller. The perpetrator has been seen riding bicycles in the area of the banks prior to the robbery, but leaves on foot or bicycle. The following robbery locations and dates have been linked to this suspect:
FBI offices in Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee, along with numerous law enforcement partners, are continuing the investigation. Anyone with information of the identity of the perpetrator is asked to call the North Carolina FBI at (704) 377-9200, or their nearest law enforcement office. |
