Wachovia Bank located at 9005 Albemarle Road, Charlotte, North Carolina robbed.October 4, 2007 MECKLENBURG COUNTY NC NEWS -- Charlotte continues to be plagued with Bank robberies. On Wednesday, an armed bank robbery took place at the Wachovia Bank located at 9005 Albemarle Road, Charlotte, North Carolina. The FBI Charlotte Safe Streets Task Force is continuing to seek the public's assistance in identifying and locating these criminals.
On October 3, 2007, at approximately 4:15 p.m., a masked lone male, armed with a black and silver semiautomatic pistol, entered the Wachovia Bank and approached one of the teller windows. After pushing aside the customer who was being waited on, the armed bank robber demanded money from the bank teller. The robber instructed the teller to place the money in a black plastic bag, which the perpetrator appears to have brought with him into the bank. The perpetrator then approached and obtained money from two other bank tellers. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the bank robber fled the area in a getaway vehicle. There were no injuries as a result of the bank robbery.
The getaway vehicle was described as a Chrysler 300 automobile, light blue or gray in color. The masked armed bank robber was described as a black male with a medium brown complexion, approximately 5'8" 10" in height, slender build, and 30s in age. At the time of the robbery, the perpetrator was wearing a black stocking over his head, a striped polo shirt with navy and yellow or gold stripes, and black or navy blue pants. Investigators from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) and the FBI Charlotte Safe Streets Task Force responded to the robbery at Wachovia Bank located at 9005 Albemarle Road, Charlotte, North Carolina, and are still investigating.
